Working is an honor.

Good Sunday everyone! Today we are discussing the importance of maintaining our cups filled with God's love. As mentioned in Colossians 3:24-25, "knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality." This passage reminds us of the promise of receiving our eternal inheritance from the Lord and the accountability for our actions. It emphasizes the principle of reaping what we sow and the impartiality of God's judgment.

Ephesians 2:8-6:24 conveys a powerful message, emphasizing the significance of grace and faith in our lives. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God" highlights the role of grace and the gift of salvation, which is not earned through our own efforts, but rather bestowed upon us by God. Furthermore, verse 10 emphasizes that as God's handiwork, we are created to do good works and fulfill the purpose that God has preordained for us. This reflects the idea that our actions and work should align with God's plan for us.

Reflecting on the book of Genesis, we can trace back to the narrative of creation, where God Himself worked to bring the world into existence. This underscores the notion that work is not a burden, but a reflection of the divine as we emulate God's creative nature through our endeavors. This sentiment is pivotal, as it shifts the perspective on work, positioning it as a means to honor God and contribute positively to the world, rather than a form of punishment or toil. In essence, the act of working becomes a way to glorify God and fulfill His purpose for our lives.
